Our Doctrinal Beliefs
All Scriptures quoted are from the King James Version, which we hold to be the most faithful English translation, drawn from the best manuscripts.
We believe with all our hearts in the one true and living God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, both visible and invisible. Within the unity of the Godhead there are three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
We believe in the full inspiration and divine authority of the Holy Scriptures. The Bible is the very Word of God and stands as the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. “Thy word is truth” (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:21; John 17:17).
We believe in the biblical account of man’s fall and his consequent need for redemption through the atoning death of Jesus Christ, and for regeneration by the Holy Ghost. God, in His longsuffering, is “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (Romans 5:12; Romans 5:8; John 3:6–7; 2 Peter 3:9). Therefore, Christ commanded that the Gospel be preached to every creature.
We believe that salvation is made available to all through God’s grace and the merits of Jesus Christ. Yet, only those who repent of their sins and place their faith in Christ as Saviour shall be saved as the word tells us in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." (and 1 John 2:2).
We believe that all who truly repent and believe the Gospel ought to be baptised by immersion, in obedience to Christ's command (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4). Following baptism, the laying on of hands by the elders is to be practiced, as taught in the New Testament (Acts 8:17; Hebrews 6:1–2; 1 Timothy 4:14).
We believe in the virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His deity, and in His sinless perfection (Luke 1:35; Hebrews 1:2–3, 8; 1 Peter 2:22) and in the infallibility of Christ as the divine Teacher. His words are life, truth, and the final measure of judgment (Matthew 7:29; John 12:48; John 17:14).
We believe that Christ died upon the cross as an atoning sacrifice for sin, rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven where He now appears in the presence of God for us, and will personally return to receive His people and establish His millennial kingdom (1 Peter 1:18–19; 1 Corinthians 15:3–5; Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 9:28; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 20:4).
We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Ghost, in His ongoing presence within the Church, and in the continuation of His gifts, exercised according to His will (John 15:26; Acts 5:3–4; 1 Corinthians 12:4; Romans 11:29; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
We believe that man is a triune being—body, soul, and spirit. The human spirit exists beyond physical death and remains conscious between death and resurrection (1 Thessalonians 5:23; Ecclesiastes 12:7; Acts 7:59; Revelation 6:9–10).
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, in the glorification of the redeemed, and in the eternal punishment of the impenitent, “with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord” (John 5:28–29; 1 Corinthians 15:49; Matthew 13:41–43; Revelation 20:15).
We believe that a life of obedience to Christ is essential. Obedience leads to sanctification, spiritual power, and the blessing of God. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4; Romans 6:16; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 1 Peter 1:22; John 14:21).
